Desal Systems provides solutions for customers who need additional pre or post treatment due to specific water quality issues. The pre or post treatment can be installed independently or in addition to your desalination machine. When combined with a desalination machine it can improve system efficiency and reduce operational costs by the reduction of chemical usage and/or replacement of sedimentary filters.  Desal Systems recommends use of the industry leading Filtration Media inserted into our FRP Pressure Vessels.

Q. When is Pre-Post Treatment required?

A.    When the levels of Fe, Mn or As in water is extremely high.

Q. Why is it required?

A. Reverse Osmosis or other processes (e.g. Magnets) cannot effectively remove Fe, Mn & As in high concentrate.

Q. How does it work?

A. The Filtration Media acts a catalytic accelerant which oxidizes the Fe, Mn & As and retains them in the filter bed.

Q. Why use this system?

A. In addition to the advantages listed below, it is one of the fewer catalytic water filtration media’s in the world developed to remove Fe and Mn that is certified to NSF/ANSI 61 for drinking water applications.

Desal Systems Filtration Media advantages include:

·          Wide pH range - Stable and satisfactory performance at pH  5.8-8.6

·          High Flow rates – can operate at linear filtration velocities up to twice that of conventional media

·          High Operating Temperature – Maximum operating temperature of 45 degrees Celsius

·         Long Life – media is not consumed in the process providing considerable advantages over other processes or media – can last up to 8 years

·          Regeneration not required – after initial activation, only sodium hypochlorite feed is required.
